2027 Training Courses

Full-day courses in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, run by trainers who work with this equipment every day. Pick a date below, or bring any course to your own workshop.

EV & HV Safety Training

Full day · $595 + GST per person

Hybrids and EVs are already in your workshop. Give your technicians the knowledge and the discipline to work safely around high voltage: verify, never assume.

What you'll learn
  • How HV systems are laid out, from pack to inverter to motor, and why you follow the orange
  • The real hazards: shock, arc flash, stored energy and battery chemistry
  • PPE and tools: the glove system, glove air-testing, CAT III meters and the rescue hook
  • The eight-step safe isolation sequence and live–dead–live meter proving
  • HVIL, isolation faults, charging, towing and roller brake testing on EVs
  • Emergency response, shock first aid and your duties under HSWA 2015
  • Hands-on: PPE checks, HV measurement and a full vehicle power-down

A safety course. It doesn't authorise HV repair work.

Air Conditioning Fundamentals

Full day · $595 + GST per person

Modern stations do most of the work, but diagnosing a fault still takes real understanding. From the physics of the cycle to real trouble cases on R-134a and R-1234yf systems.

What you'll learn
  • The refrigeration cycle, pressure and temperature, and TXV vs orifice tube systems
  • Refrigerants old and new, and what GWP and A2L flammability mean on the job
  • Safety, PPE, recovery and NZ compliance
  • Oils: PAG vs POE, and why PAG never goes in a high-voltage compressor
  • Components, servicing, leak detection and flushing done right
  • Protecting your station from stop-leak and contaminated refrigerant
  • Hands-on: reading good, under- and overcharged systems on gauges and live data

Scan Tool Diagnostics

Full day · $595 + GST per person

A scan tool is only as good as the technician reading it. Turn codes and live data into fast, confident diagnosis.

What you'll learn
  • Why every job starts with a full system scan, and keeping it as your record
  • Reading live data to separate a sensor fault from a system fault
  • Codes versus causes: bulletins, and when to reach for the meter or scope
  • Real trouble cases, from scan report to root cause

Scope Diagnostics

Full day · $595 + GST per person

See what the scan tool can’t. Use the oscilloscope to test sensors, actuators and networks, read the waveforms, and find the faults code-reading misses.

What you'll learn
  • Setting up a scope: channels, voltage and time base, triggers and probes
  • Known-good waveforms for common sensors and actuators
  • Crank, cam, injector, ignition and wheel-speed sensor testing
  • Voltage drop, current testing and CAN bus signals
  • Capturing intermittent faults with a logical test plan

2027 course dates
